glass of christmas punch - hot tub drink

It’s that time of year. From rum-laced eggnog to cider and mulled wine, there are many holiday favourites you may want to indulge in this holiday season.

But, if you’re planning to drink while in the spa, it’s best to avoid alcohol, which can lead to dehydration.

So, before you reach for a cup of cheer this holiday season, why not check out our list of delicious non-alcoholic hot tub drinks that are perfect for serving in the hot tub.

1. Christmas Punch

This drink literally tastes like a holiday in a glass.

To make your own Christmas cheer for a crowd, mix 6 cups of cranberry juice, 3 cups of pineapple juice and 1 tablespoon of almond extract and stir well.

Add 3 liters of ginger ale and give it a quick stir.  Garnish with fresh cranberries and lime slices if you wish.

2. Sparkling Berry Apple Mocktail

If you enjoy berries and cider, this drink should be right up your alley.

Start by adding 12 oz. of frozen mixed berries to a saucepan and top with ¾ of a cup of sugar. Mix well and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce to a simmer and continue to cook until the berries are soft and the mixture is thick.

Strain mixture and allow the berry syrup to cool to room temperature. For one serving, add ½ an oz. of the syrup to 3 oz. of apple cider and 3 oz. of sparkling water. Mix well and then serve over ice. Garnish with berries if you wish.

3. Raspberry Cream Mimosa

If you want to taste elegance in a glass, this is the drink for you.

In a medium-sized saucepan, heat one bag of frozen raspberries until they reach a soupy consistency. Add ½ a cup of sugar and stir until it has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow mixture to sit. Once cool, puree the raspberries in a blender and then pour through a strainer into a container that can be sealed with a lid and put in the freezer.

Let mixture cool and then add 1 cup of half-and-half and stir well. Put the lid back on and put the container back in the freezer, this time four to six hours or until frozen. When you’re ready for your drinks, spoon 2 tablespoons of raspberry cream into your glasses and then pour sparkling grape juice over top. Use fresh berries as a garnish.
